Yield (Rhymes with "field")

Updated: Dec 12, 2018

To pause or move aside to let someone else move forward.

According to school bus rules, Ellie and the other 4th graders had to yield to Kindergartners, who were supposed to always get off the bus first.

*Yield can also mean how much a certain activity produces. The yield of an apple orchard is often measured by how many bushels of apples that are collected.
